About

Using paint, textiles, photography and the written word, I explore the human condition.  I often incorporate found materials and discarded objects into my art – these “chanced upon” findings informing the direction a piece of work will take. I construct,deconstruct and reconstruct repeatedly – creating layers which can both conceal and reveal. I am drawn to the things that people leave behind, and the ways in which these relics connect us to their history. The theme of how memory shapes us and dictates the ways in which we navigate and make sense of our lives, is one that I keep returning to.

 

I studied Art and Design at the Edinburgh College of Art / University of Edinburgh (2012-2018). I strive to continue developing my artistic language, and exploring new ways of communicating my ideas. I make artist books, mixed media paintings and sculptural work. I am currently based in Dumfries and Galloway.
